Trauma Aid Aotearoa

Trauma Aid Aotearoa is a New Zealand-based charity focused on improving access to effective, evidence-based trauma care. Our mahi includes supporting communities, improving clinical services, and providing professional training to ensure more people can access support when they need it most. Our approach is grounded in EMDR-informed practice and designed to be structured, scalable, and accessible across a range of settings.

We deliver trauma-informed group programs for communities impacted by critical incidents, disasters, and ongoing stress, alongside workforce training that equips clinicians and organisations to provide safe, effective support. Through partnerships with local providers, schools, and community organisations, we aim to strengthen the capacity of communities to respond to trauma in practical and sustainable ways.

Our newest service, The Path Program, is a structured, multi-session group program delivered online to maximise accessibility. It combines psychoeducation, resourcing, and guided processing to support participants in reducing distress, building internal resources, and moving forward with greater confidence.

Together, this work reflects our broader mission: to expand access to high-quality trauma care, support recovery at scale, and build a more resilient, trauma-informed Aotearoa.
